The AKUUU Language of Learning
The AKUUU Language of Learning
Words shape how we think. And how we talk about learning shapes how children experience it.
At AKUUU, we use a simple, powerful language. Not jargon. Not buzzwords. Just clear words that help parents and children think betterβtogether.
π The 5 Words That Drive Everything
Every AKUUU experience is built on one loop. Five words. One cycle.
ASK β KNOW β UNDERSTAND β USE β UPGRADE
Here’s what each word meansβand how to use it with your child.
π‘ ASK β Start with Curiosity
What it means: Learning begins with a real question. Not a quiz. Not a test. A genuine “I wonder…”
Parent says:
- “What do you notice?”
- “What do you think is happening?”
- “What would happen if…?”
Child learns: My questions matter. Curiosity is the first step.
β Matches Level 1: The Asker | Skill: Curiosity
π΅ KNOW β Gather the Clues
What it means: Focus on one idea. Notice details. Build a foundation.
Parent says:
- “What do you already know?”
- “What patterns do you see?”
- “What’s one thing you can tell me?”
Child learns: I don’t need everything at once. One solid idea is enough.
β Matches Level 2: The Finder | Skills: Observation + Retrieval
π£ UNDERSTAND β Make It Yours
What it means: Connect the idea to something real. Explain it simply. If you can teach it, you understand it.
Parent says:
- “Why do you think that works?”
- “Can you explain it like I’m five?”
- “What is this like in real life?”
Child learns: Understanding is deeper than memorizing. I need to make it mine.
β Matches Levels 3-4: The Connector + The Explainer | Skills: Connecting + Explanation
π’ USE β Put It Into Action
What it means: Do something with the idea. Draw it. Solve a problem. Explain it to someone else. This is where knowledge becomes skill.
Parent says:
- “What could you try next?”
- “How would you solve this?”
- “Can you show me using what you learned?”
Child learns: Knowledge isn’t real until I use it. Doing = learning.
β Matches Levels 5-7: The Solver, The Analyzer, The Strategist | Skills: Problem Solving, Pattern Recognition, Strategic Planning
π΄ UPGRADE β Reflect and Improve
What it means: Look back. What worked? What didn’t? What will you do differently? This is where thinking gets stronger.
Parent says:
- “What worked well?”
- “What confused you?”
- “What will you try next time?”
Child learns: Mistakes are data. Every loop makes me better.
β Matches Levels 8-10: The Detective, The Creator, The Upgrader | Skills: Critical Thinking, Innovation, Reflection
π‘ Why This Language Matters
When parents and children share the same words, something powerful happens:
- Learning becomes visible β “Which step are you on?”
- Struggle becomes normal β “Time to UPGRADE.”
- Progress becomes clear β “You moved from KNOW to UNDERSTAND.”
This is not just vocabulary.
This is how thinking becomes a habit.
